We’re thrilled to announce the release of Titan Dental Design v1.2.3, our latest update designed to make your orthodontic workflow faster, more intuitive, and more powerful than ever. This update is packed with new features, improvements, and fixes that reflect the feedback we’ve received from our growing community. Thank you for trusting us and helping us build a tool that truly solves your problems.
In this blog, we’ll walk you through the most exciting changes in this update, from fully automatic segmentation to enhanced rendering and streamlined lab communication. Let’s dive in!
Fully Automatic Segmentation for Teeth Detection
Titan’s new fully automatic segmentation drastically reduces the setup time for your clear aligner treatments. Once you import a scan, the software quickly identifies and segments each tooth without manual clicks or marker placements. This level of automation not only speeds up your workflow but also reduces the margin of human error.
Segmentation has always been one of the most time-consuming tasks. Thanks to these improvements, you can now get from “import” to “treatment planning” with just a few clicks, saving precious minutes (and possibly your patience) every day.

Improved Rendering for Realistic Visualization

We’ve upgraded Titan’s rendering engine to deliver more realistic and detailed visuals. The new rendering include:
- Enhanced gum and teeth shading for a more natural look.
- Shadow effects that help teeth stand out from the background.
- Detailed teeth and gums tissue to blend better with the Face rendering.
These improvements are especially useful when presenting treatment plans to patients, as they provide a clearer and more lifelike representation of the expected outcomes.
Faster & More Realistic Gum Deformations
We’ve made gum deformations faster and more precise, with softer and more natural results. This improvement ensures that your treatment plans look as realistic as possible, helping you communicate outcomes more effectively with your patients.
- Enhanced Visualization: Gums now move and adapt more naturally when you shift teeth in your setup, giving a lifelike feel to every adjustment.
- Accelerated Performance: The updated deformation engine processes changes more quickly, letting you see results in near-real time and iterate faster.
Customizable Interface Layout & Resizable Panels
A smoother workflow often hinges on a user-friendly interface. That’s why we’ve refreshed Titan’s layout with a more intuitive design. Panels like the Photos and Measurements windows can now be docked, moved, or resized to fit your exact screen space and viewing preferences.
This means you can keep a close eye on critical data, such as before-and-after images, without crowding out the 3D workspace. Small screens will particularly benefit from the ability to slide panels in or out as needed.

Enhanced Attachment Analysis and Placement
Our enhanced attachment system brings sophisticated biomechanical analysis to your fingertips:
- Advanced Analysis: The Attachment Analysis now takes into account new parameters like root control, rotational forces forces among others. Titan color-codes teeth that need specific attachments and provides tooltips explaining why.
- Smart Placement: Automatic attachment placement aligns with these upgraded rules, saving you the hassle of manually scrutinizing each tooth’s movements.
Print Request Sharing for External Labs
We recognize that not all labs use Titan. To make collaboration easier, the updated Print Request feature generates a secure shared link for any external lab. Your partners can then view requests, access STL files, and coordinate production without needing a Titan account.

This way is possible to send Print Orders to labs that don’t use Titan and they will just need to open the link to download the STLs that should be printed.
Sharing data this way cuts out back-and-forth emails, accelerates turnaround times, and keeps everything organized in a centralized place.
Multiple TwinBlocks
For cases requiring TwinBlocks, Titan now allows you to place multiple TwinBlocks at different aligners. This added flexibility gives you more control over complex treatment plans.
Allowing adjusting the bite at different times during the treatment and matching better the other teeth movements.
IPR Button in Treatment Ready/Review
We’ve added an IPR button to the Treatment Ready/Review step, allowing you to show or hide spacing for a clearer view. This small but impactful change makes it easier to visualize and adjust your treatment plans as it reduces visual clutter when the doctor needs to review just the movements or sequences.

Other Notable Changes
In addition to the major updates above, we’ve made several smaller but important improvements:
- Option ALL-NO-ZERO in Printing Order: Now works even if there are no aligners on some arches.
- Roots Step Toggle: Toggling maxilla and mandible now correctly hides the roots of the selected arch.
- Teeth Superimposition: No longer shows when moving back to the segmentation step.
- Overcorrection Display: No longer shown on incorrect treatment steps.
- Improved Error Messages: Added more information on how to fix issues in error dialogs.
- Font Rendering: Fixed rendering of font characters in different languages.
- Overview Letter Update: Now shows precision cuts for better documentation.
- Photos Panel Fix: IPR and Collision boxes are no longer disabled when the photos panel is opened.
