Titan Dental Design is introducing a new built-in integration for 3Shape scanners, making it easier than ever for doctors using 3Shape to access and import intraoral scans directly into Titan. This feature eliminates the need for manual downloads and file transfers, saving valuable time and streamlining the workflow for orthodontic and dental professionals.
With this update, doctors can log into their 3Shape account from within Titan, browse their patient scans in real-time, and import them instantly—all without leaving the software.
How to Use the 3Shape Integration in Titan
Step 1: Access the 3Shape Integration
When creating a Local Treatment or submitting a Lab Order, you will reach the Import Step. Here, you’ll now see 3Shape listed alongside other supported scanners.
Step 2: Log into Your 3Shape Account
Click on 3Shape, and a login page will appear. Use your 3Shape Communicate credentials—the same ones you use at:

💡 Tip: If you have previously logged in, Titan will remember your session, so you won’t need to enter your credentials again.
Step 3: Browse and Select Patient Scans
After logging in, Titan will open a window showing all intraoral scans available in your 3Shape portal.
🔍 Key Features:
- Automatic Patient Matching: Titan will attempt to find and pre-select the patient that matches the one currently open in Titan.
- Search & Filter Options: If the auto-match doesn’t find the right scan, you can manually search by patient name or use filters to quickly locate the scan.
- View All Available Scans: If needed, remove filters to display the full list of scans uploaded to your 3Shape account.
Step 4: Import the Scan into Titan
Once you select a scan, Titan will automatically download the STL or PLY files and import them into the treatment plan—no extra steps required.
