Titan Dental Design v1.2.8 is here, and it's one of our biggest releases yet.
This release adds AI Clinical Reports, 3D faces generated from patient photos, full CBCT segmentation, a new Articulator mode, more than 15 new cephalometric analyses, a Cross-Section tool, and a big round of Direct Printing upgrades. Here's what's new.
AI Clinical Reports
You can now create a full clinical report in one click. The report is organized into Summary, Facial, Skeletal, Dental, and ABO sections, so you have the whole case in one document.
- Each case gets an ABO Discrepancy Index score, shown on a scale from mild to severe, so you can see the case complexity at a glance
- Findings appear as problem cards, with the severity and the affected teeth
- Reports include the patient's photos and analysis overlays, and explain each measurement in terms your patient can follow
- Print the report or save it as a PDF, in the language you use in the app
It's a clear, professional way to walk your patients through their diagnosis and treatment.
3D Face from Photos
Titan can now build a 3D face of your patient from their photos. Use the frontal photo, the left and right profiles, and a wide smile, and Titan does the rest. No face scanner needed.
See the treatment in the context of your patient's face, and show them how their new smile fits.
CBCT Segmentation
CBCT goes much further in v1.2.8:
- New CBCT segmentation for the roots, the skull, and the alveolar canal, with a combined crown-and-root view
- Place the dental scan inside the CT, with the lower jaw aligned on its own
- A new bone view shows whether the roots stay inside the bone as the teeth move
- CBCT now loads on the web, even on low-end devices
Staging and Planning
Staging is faster and gives you more control:
- Micro-staging with movable bars, so you can fine-tune when each movement happens
- Snap to Arch is back to help with automatic alignment, and dragged teeth now slide along the arch
- Articulator mode lets you move the mandible with extra controls
- Twin Block jaw advancement can be staged in 1 to 4 steps, or gradually
- Refinements can start from any previous aligner, with a live 3D preview
Cephalometrics and Analysis
We've added more than 15 new analyses:
- Lateral ceph: Sassouni, Tweed, Downs, Kim, Eastman, Arnett, Segner-Hasund, ABO, and USP
- Frontal (PA) ceph: Grummons, Grayson, and Svanholt-Solow
- Smile symmetry and smile proportion analyses
- AI landmarks on frontal face photos
Whatever analysis you were trained on, it's probably in Titan now.
Cross-Section Tool
The new Cross-Section tool slices through the teeth, roots, gums, shells, and the CBCT, right in the 3D viewer.
Check the root positions, the shell thickness, and the fit from any angle, without exporting anything.
Waxing
Waxing now fills gaps automatically and gives you a smooth gingival line. It can also close black triangles.
The result is cleaner models and better-fitting aligners, with less manual cleanup.
Direct Printing
Direct Printing gets a big upgrade:
- A new Direct Print shell
- 3D printing supports for occlusal and lingual orientations, including Occlusal Towers
- Solid buttons, twin blocks, and bite ramps
- Power Ridges and Pressure Points
- A Simplify Mesh option that makes STL files smaller
Orders and Shipping
Ordering aligners is simpler. The print order flow is streamlined, and each order now has a production timeline, so you always know where your case is.
Shipments from more than 5,000 carriers, including UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, and Correios, are tracked automatically until they're delivered.
Improvements Across the Board
We also improved a lot of everyday things:
- Sign in with your Google account, on desktop, web, and mobile
- Better AI segmentation, automatic orientation, tooth axes, and tooth classification
- Full support for ASCII STL files
- Titan is now available in more languages, including Simplified Chinese
