Lab Integration

How to integrate Titan Dental Design into your Lab

Titan Dental Design offers a flexible framework for labs to integrate with Titan and manage their patient data, dental scans, treatment plans, and doctor approvals. Depending on your lab's existing infrastructure and goals, you can choose from one of the following options:

Option 1: Manual Synchronization (Minimal Integration)

Overview:
In this configuration, Titan Dental Design is used internally by lab technicians. The lab's existing website remains the primary interface for doctors, who only receive a shared approval link to view and approve treatment plans online. There is no API integration in this option, which makes it a good choice for labs with minimal IT resources or those wanting to maintain their current workflows.

Key Components:

  • Patient Management: Handled through the existing lab website.
  • Synchronization to Titan: Performed manually by a lab technician.
  • Treatment Planning: Conducted entirely in Titan Dental Design.
  • Doctor Review and Approval: A link to the Titan web viewer is shared by email or posted on the lab's website.

Typical Workflow:

  1. Doctor and Patient Management happens on the Lab existing website
    - Doctors register and log in on the lab's existing website.
    - They can view their list of patients and orders.
    - A submission form allows doctors to upload dental scans, photos, and instructions for new treatment plans.

  2. Manual Case Creation in Titan
    - After the doctor submits an order on the lab website, a lab technician creates the corresponding patient case/order within Titan Dental Design.
    - The technician also manually uploads or transfers any supporting files (scans, photos, etc.) into Titan.

  3. Treatment Plan Development
    - Lab technicians use Titan Dental Design to create and refine the treatment plan.

  4. Plan Review and Approval
    - Once complete, a link to the treatment plan is generated in Titan.
    - The doctor receives this link (via email or a message on the lab website) and can view, approve, or request modifications directly through the Titan web viewer.

Benefits of Option 1:

  • Minimal changes to your existing website or workflows.
  • Quick setup, as no development work or API integration is required.
  • Ideal for labs just starting out with Titan Dental Design or those with limited technical resources.

Option 2: API Integration for Seamless Synchronization

Overview:
For labs with an existing website and the capability to implement API calls, this option streamlines data flow between the lab website and Titan Dental Design. Patient records and dental scans submitted through the lab's website can be automatically synchronized to Titan, reducing manual effort. Doctors continue to use the lab's website for patient management and receive a shared Titan link for plan approval.

Key Components:

  • Patient Management: Still handled on the lab's website.
  • Synchronization to Titan: Performed automatically by the API.
  • Treatment Planning: Conducted entirely in Titan Dental Design.
  • Doctor Review and Approval: A link to the Titan web viewer is shared by email or accessible via the lab's website.

Typical Workflow:

  1. Doctor and Patient Management happens on the Lab existing website
    - Doctors register on the lab's website and can access their patients and orders.
    - They use the submission form to upload scans, photos, and instructions.

  2. Automatic Case Creation in Titan
    - Once the lab website receives an order, the lab's server calls Titan's API to automatically create a new patient case/order in Titan.
    - All relevant files (scans, photos, instructions) are transferred to Titan, reducing the need for manual data entry.

  3. Treatment Plan Development
    - Lab technicians continue to work in Titan Dental Design to create and refine the treatment plan.

  4. Plan Review and Approval
    - Titan generates an approval link, shared with the doctor (via email or accessible via the lab's website).
    - The doctor clicks the link to view and approve (or request changes to) the plan.

Benefits of Option 2:

  • Reduced manual steps, leading to fewer errors and faster turnaround times.
  • Seamless data synchronization between the lab website and Titan.
  • It is best for labs with some IT/development capabilities looking to streamline their operations.

Option 3: White-Labeled Titan Platform

Overview:
For labs that do not have an established website or wish to upgrade their current workflows significantly, Titan Dental Design can provide a fully white-labeled platform. The Titan Interface can be opened inside the Lab Website, customized with the lab's branding (logo, name, etc.), giving doctors direct access to Titan's front-end capabilities—patient management, order tracking, AI-powered forms, and treatment plan review—all under the lab's identity.

Key Components:

  • Patient Management and Order Tracking: Handled directly in Titan's white-labeled interface.
  • AI-Assisted Prescription Forms: Doctors can use AI-driven form completion for faster, more accurate data entry.
  • Treatment Planning: Conducted entirely in Titan Dental Design.
  • Plan Review and Approval: As doctors log in to the lab's branded Titan site, they can track all orders and review, approve and modify the treatment plans.

Typical Workflow:

  1. Doctor Registration on the White-Labeled Site
    - Doctors visit the lab's custom-branded Titan portal.
    - They create accounts, manage patient profiles, and initiate treatment orders directly within the Titan interface.

  2. Submission of Advanced AI-Powered Forms
    - When creating a new planning order, doctors can leverage Titan's AI-assisted prescription forms, which can provide automated diagnoses, writing assistance, and improved data entry.

  3. Treatment Plan Development
    - Lab technicians use Titan's advanced tools to craft and refine the treatment plan.
    - All data remains synchronized within the white-labeled Titan environment.

  4. Plan Review and Approval
    - Doctors can monitor order status, review plans, and request changes or approve the final plan, all in one place.

Benefits of Option 3:

  • Comprehensive, all-in-one solution without the need for a separate lab website.
  • Enhanced user experience with consistent lab branding.
  • Access to the latest AI technologies for improved case documentation and diagnosis.
  • Simplified workflow with minimal manual intervention.

Choosing the Right Option

  • Option 1 is best for labs wanting minimal disruption to existing workflows and without robust IT resources.
  • Option 2 suits labs already running a functional website and seeking to automate manual steps through an API.
  • Option 3 is ideal for labs looking to adopt an advanced, turnkey solution offering a white-labeled experience and AI-powered features.

By selecting the option that aligns with your lab's capabilities and strategic goals, you can seamlessly integrate Titan Dental Design into your workflow—optimizing efficiency, improving communication with doctors, and enhancing overall patient care.
